If you are thinking about a regular garden service, the first question is usually how often someone needs to come. There is no fixed answer, and a good service should not pretend there is one.
Once a month, or twice a month
Some of the gardens we look after are done once a month. Gardens that need more to stay on top of the weeds are done twice a month, which Ashley finds keeps a garden neat all the time. It depends on the garden and on what the client needs.
What decides it
- How much work the weeds need. A garden that needs more to stay on top of them is better done twice a month.
- How much irrigation it has. A low maintenance garden with little irrigation often suits once a month.
- What you need from it. That is part of the conversation when we walk the garden with you.
What a visit covers
A regular visit is mowing and pruning, weeding, fertilizing and scheduled visits that keep the work happening before the garden gets away from you, not after. You can see the full detail on the garden service page.

Why the same crew matters
Our crew is cross-trained, so the team that planted your garden can run the service as well. We do not use subcontractors, and most of the team has been with Ashley for seven to ten years. If we designed and installed the garden, we already know what is growing where and why.
Getting a garden service started
Every quote is free, and it starts with a walk around the garden with you. Pricing is project based, so it depends on the scope and size of the job and not on a flat rate. August to December is our busy season, because everyone wants things finished before the Christmas shutdown, so if you want a service in place before then it is worth asking early.
We work in Betty's Bay, Pringle Bay, Rooi Els and Kleinmond. If you are planning a new garden as well, the landscaping page shows how that side of the work runs.
